*** Phelps Family NHS CAP Student Research Awards

The NHS CAP Student Research Awards are intended to recognize, each year, exemplary undergraduate student research. These CAP Student Research Awards recognize that conducting student research projects, with faculty mentoring, enhances the academic experience and facilitates student success. Through these CAP Student Research Grants and Awards, the Donors also desire to convey, within the College of Natural and Health Sciences, an understanding of “CAP” values and behaviors:
> Contribute…by volunteering time and personal skills, talents, abilities, experience and passion around issues in service to the community;
> Achieve…by displaying a bias toward action and performance (including academically), self-reliance, persevering, and overcoming obstacles to accomplishing goals;
> Pay-it-forward…by impacting the lives of others in meaningful and positive ways to them through small or large, random or planned, acts of kindness, caring, and “giving back.”

The Phelps Family NHS CAP Student Research Awards are awarded to undergraduate students in the College of Natural and Health Sciences. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a full-time undergraduate student or a senior undergraduate student in their final semester; be in the College of Natural and Health Sciences; have completed an application and research project, submitted by an individual or a team, approved under guidelines set by the Dean of the College; and submit, to the College’s Student Research CAP Awards Selection committee, a written summary, in the format prescribed, that describes the research and results according to the established criteria.
