Volunteers Enriching Weld - Single parent Scholarship

Volunteers Enriching Weld offers scholarships to single parents in Weld County.

The amount of the award to be given may be applied to tuition, fees, textbooks or other costs of attendance (such as childcare and housing) To be eligible, you must:

  • Be a custodial single parent
  • living on your own with at least 50% custody of the child or children
  • child or children from birth through completion of secondary school
  • Reside in Weld County for at least one year.
  • Have a high school diploma or GED.
  • Be accepted into a program at UNC.
  • Provide documentation of at least a 2.5 GPA (undergraduate) or 3.0 (graduate)
  • Submit at least 2 letters of recommendation. Letters must be from people outside your circle of family and friends.
  • Provide an essay of approximately 500 words sharing your goals and aspirations.

Students must complete a renewal application to be considered for another year.

To apply complete the Single Parent Scholarship Application in your UNC Universal Scholarship Application and have a current FAFSA on file.
