Dr. Frank J. Lucero Bright Futures Memorial Scholarship

The Dr. Frank J. Lucero Bright Futures Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a student who is studying education with the intention of becoming a teacher. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be a sophomore or above; studying education with the intention of becoming a teacher; eligible students include undergraduate, students completing student teaching during the award year, and students enrolled in a graduate-level post-baccalaureate teacher licensure program; must demonstrate financial need, must be a first-generation college student; must be engaged in one or more of the following: actively involved in the Cesar Chavez Cultural center, tutoring for the TRiO Student Support Services Program, actively involved in the Student Government Association, actively involved in the university’s Hispanic Serving Institute work, and actively involved in the university’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion initiatives.
