*** Hummel Family Scholarship Program - Nursing

The Hummel Family Scholarship in the School of Nursing is awarded to students who attend the University and who desire to obtain an undergraduate degree from the School of Nursing. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be enrolled as a full-time student at the University; have been admitted to UNC’s School of Nursing (classified as “Nursing – Admitted”, and desire to obtain an undergraduate degree from the School of Nursing; have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75+ out of 4.0 (or the corresponding grade if the 4.0 GPA scale is not used); be an undergraduate third or fourth year Nursing student; demonstrate financial need; and, be in good academic standing with the University. Preference shall be given to applicants with demonstrated contributions to society (e.g. volunteerism, good citizenship, extra-curricular activities) and applicants who are part of the first generation of their family to attend college. This award will be split over the fall, spring, and summer semesters the year the recipient is attending the summer session.
