David R. Caldwell Study Abroad Scholarship

The David R. Caldwell Study Abroad Scholarship is awarded to humanities and social sciences students planning to study abroad. To qualify for this opportunity the applicant must be an undergraduate student with a declared major in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, a student with a declared major in Interdisciplinary Studies: International Studies emphasis, or a graduate student in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences; and have a cumulative GPA of 2.75+. The scholarship is awarded to students for study abroad experiences approved by UNC faculty, international activities that incorporate experiential learning, academic research conducted abroad, and scholarly presentations delivered at professional conferences outside the United States. Recipients shall sign an agreement to provide a written report of activities undertaken with the awarded funds, including an assessment of the benefits of the scholarship, to be submitted to the Dean’s office of the College within three months of the conclusion of the international experience.
